The Scottish Parliament Outreach Education Service has opened bookings for September to December 2012 including. Gaelic sessions are available for Gaelic medium education and Gaelic learner education.
Outreach sessions take place in the school, and are available for classes from P4 – S6.
Sessions are tailored to age and level, with appropriate content and learning activities.
More information about the ‘Your Parliament in Your School’ Outreach programme can be found at http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/visitandlearn/Education/15205.aspx
For primary schools, sessions last 90 minutes and we can work with a maximum of 3 classes in a day. In secondary, session length will vary depending on timetable and year group, but is ideally 90 minutes for S4, 5 and 6, and about an hour for S1, 2 and 3.
Sessions can be followed up with either an MSPs in Schools session (held in the school), which the Outreach service will arrange. Alternatively, if you would like to visit the parliament, a limited number of Outreach Education follow-up tours are available through Visitor Services, once your Outreach session is confirmed. You can also contact them to book tickets for committee meetings or chamber business.
