Òran Gàidhlig aig Sgoilearan às an Rubha #gaidhlig #gaelic

Choinnich mi ri sgoilearan à Bun-sgoil an Rubha ann an Earra-Ghàidheal is Bòid anns a’ Phàrlamaid an-diugh. Bha iad air turas còmhla ri mo cho obraiche Susan Parry a tha na oifigear foghlam anns a’ Phàrlamaid.

(Bilingual post- English below)

Dh’innse Susan dhomh gun robh iad a’ gabhail pàirt ann an Sgeama GLPS (Gaelic Language in the Primary School) agus cha b’ e ruith ach leam dhaibh sealltainn dhomh cho math sa bha a’ Ghàidhlig a bha iad air ionnsachadh – tro dhà òran: Ciamar a tha thu? agus dè an t-ainm a th’ ort.

Agus abair gun robh iad math air seinn!

Tha mi air cuireadh a thoirt don sgoil beachd, dealbh no fiosrachadh sam bith bhon turas a chur thugainn airson a’ bhlog.

Ma an sgoil/colaiste/buidheann ag iarraidh tighinn air turas sa Phàrlamaid tron Ghàidhlig, cuir fios gu: SP.Bookings@scottish.parliament.uk. A bharrachd air tursan le treòraiche, tha tursan-fuaime (audio tours) rim faighinn sa Ghàidhlig cuideachd.

No ma tha sibh airson’s gun tig riochdaire aig a’ Phàrlamaid airson seisean a chumail leis an sgoil/colaiste/buidheann agad, cuir fios gu: Outreach.Education@scottish.parliament.uk.

A bharrachd air seiseanan sa Bheurla agus seiseanan sa Ghàidhlig, faodaidh sinn seiseanan a chumail a tha freagarrach do sgoilearan a tha ag ionnsachadh na Gàidhlig sa bhun-sgoil no san àrd-sgoil.

A Gaelic song from Rhu primary!

I met some children from Rhu Primary in Argyll & Bute earlier today. They were on a tour of the Parliament along with my colleague Susan Parry who is one of the Parliament’s education officers.

Susan told me that they were tasking part in the GLPS (Gaelic Language in the Primary School) scheme and they were very keen to show how good their Gaelic was through two songs they had learnt in school: Ciamar a tha thu? and Dè an t-ainm a th’ ort.

They were fantastic singers!

I’ve now written to the school asking them for any views, pictures or thoughts they have on their trip for putting on the blog so you may be hearing more from them!

If your school, college or group would like a tour of the Parliament in Gaelic, contact SP.bookings@scottish.parliament.uk.

If you would like to arrange an inward education session, fill in our online form.

Or if you would like a member of our outreach team to come to you to deliver a session with your school, college or group, please contact:

In addition to outreach sessions in English or Gaelic, we can also arrange sessions which are suitable for Gaelic learners in the primary (GLPS) or secondary school.
